This reporting period has demonstrated how a simple innovation can create meaningful change across entire communities. Through our clean cooking initiative, rural women in Eastern Uganda are learning to build improved cookstoves that are improving household health, reducing fuel costs, and creating new economic opportunities.
Women participated in practical training sessions where they learned how to construct durable cookstoves using locally available materials. The stoves use significantly less firewood than traditional cooking methods and produce much less smoke. Families adopting the technology are benefiting from cleaner kitchens, faster cooking times, and lower household expenses.
The project has also focused on empowering women as entrepreneurs. Participants received training in business management, marketing, and customer service to help them establish successful cookstove enterprises. Several women have already begun selling stoves within their communities, creating income streams that support their families and improve household stability.
Community outreach activities have encouraged wider adoption of clean cooking practices. Demonstrations and awareness campaigns have helped families understand the health risks associated with indoor smoke and the environmental benefits of fuel-efficient stoves. Interest continues to grow as more households witness the positive impact experienced by early adopters.
Every stove produced and installed represents progress toward healthier families, stronger local economies, and a more sustainable environment. We sincerely thank our supporters for making this transformation possible. Together, we are creating lasting change one cookstove at a time while empowering women to lead the way toward a brighter future.
