Business creation in off-grid villages in Malaysia

While fundraising has had a quiet start this period, the energy within our partner communities in Malaysia is higher than ever. Here is a look at what’s happening on the ground:

Local Initiative: A Village Taking the Lead

We are thrilled to highlight the incredible proactivity of one of our partner villages. Not only have they filled their available business spaces with active entrepreneurs, but they have also independently installed plumbing to support their operations.

They recently submitted a formal letter detailing a vision for building expansions and specific system upgrades. This "bottom-up" planning is a testament to their commitment to long-term economic growth, and we are eager to help them realize these plans as funding allows.

Training & Preparation

Our business training sessions remain ongoing. We are currently working with aspiring entrepreneurs across all communities to refine their business models and financial literacy. The goal is to ensure that once the equipment arrives, the "software" (the skills) is already in place to match the "hardware."

What’s Next?

• Kickstarting Enterprises: We are moving forward with plans to purchase essential equipment at the end of this month. This will provide the necessary spark to get these micro-enterprises up and running.

• Fundraising Focus: We have unfortunately only raised a very small amount towards our project goals, but this hasn't deterred us. We're hopeful for more donations before the end of the month to help contribute towards the equipment we can purchase on behalf of the community.

Our Takeaway: The community is ready and the infrastructure is growing. We are now focused on bridging the small financial gap to turn this localized enthusiasm into a full-scale economic reality.
