Borehole Construction Progress
We are pleased to share significant progress in our effort to provide clean and safe water to underserved rural communities. During this reporting period, our team successfully completed site assessments and hydrogeological surveys in the target villages. These surveys helped identify suitable locations for borehole drilling based on groundwater availability and community accessibility.
Construction activities have now begun, and the first borehole has been successfully drilled. Community members actively participated in site preparation, demonstrating strong local ownership of the project. The newly drilled borehole has shown promising water yields, and water quality testing confirmed that the source is safe for human consumption.
Before the project, many families traveled several kilometers daily to collect water from unsafe sources such as ponds and streams. These sources often exposed children and adults to waterborne diseases. Once operational, the borehole will serve more than 500 people, significantly reducing travel time and improving access to clean water.
In addition to construction activities, community meetings were held to establish a Water User Committee responsible for overseeing maintenance and sustainability. Members received training on leadership, financial management, and basic maintenance procedures.
We are grateful for the continued support of our donors and partners. Your contributions are helping transform lives by providing reliable access to clean water, improving health outcomes, and creating opportunities for education and economic development.
