Children in Ankpa community rely on unsafe, muddy pits for drinking water, exposing them to deadly diseases and disrupting education. This project will provide a safe borehole water system, storage tanks, and hygiene facilities in the school. With your support, we will restore dignity, improve health, and create a safe learning environment for hundreds of vulnerable children.
The schools in Ankpa and its community lacks access to clean water, forcing children to fetch contaminated water from shallow, exposed holes. This water is unsafe, disease-ridden, and unfit for consumption. Pupils face constant health risks such as diarrhea and infections, leading to absenteeism and poor academic performance. The absence of safe water also affects hygiene and sanitation, worsening living conditions.
This project will construct a solar-powered borehole, install water storage tanks, and provide multiple water collection points within the community and in school premises. We will also implement hygiene education and sanitation facilities to ensure proper use and sustainability. Community members will be engaged and trained to maintain the system, ensuring long-term access to clean, safe water for all students.
Our goal is to ensure every child in Ankpa learns in a safe and healthy environment with reliable access to clean water. This project will reduce waterborne diseases, improve school attendance, and enhance academic outcomes. Long-term, we aim to replicate this intervention across other underserved schools, creating sustainable access to clean water and transforming communities.
