Dear Friends,
It has been a busy quarter for Splash as we work to stay on track with our ambitious goals to reach every goernment school in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia by the end of 2023. While there have been many challenges and delays due to COVID-19, we are proud to share our mid-year progress numbers with you.
Since the beginning of the year, we have been able to install:
In addition, our team has also been able to conduct 77 Hygiene Club training sessions (pictured). After being closed for a majority of 2020, most schools in Ethiopia have been open since January 2021. Our team continues to take extensive safety precautions for our team and at the schools we serve.
Against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, Splash's work to bring WASH in schools to underserved communities is critial and a cause for hope. As schools continue to reopen, facilities for handwashing with soap and programs to encourage positive hygiene behaviors remain a public health imperative.
None of this is possible without our team in country and the support from donors like you. If these previous months have shown us anything, it's that passionate people, working together, can make all the difference.
We're so incredibly grateful and happy to have your support and we look forward to sharing more next time.
-Team Splash
