Challenge

Soweto-Kayole community with a population of over 60,000 being one of the worst slums in Nairobi city has never had any piped water since independence. This has caused many water borne diseases and many deaths especially to the children. This project will provide both pupils and community safe water for drinking and domestic use.

Solution

Access to clean water as a basic necessity will be solved and sanitation within the community will be improved thereby eradicating water borne diseases. It will also enable piped water to be accessible in homes hence reducing the time wastage of long distances in fetching this basic commodity.

Long-Term Impact

Over 500 household and 400 pupils will have enough water everyday hence improved health and less causes of death in the community.
