Clean-Up Tons of Debris from the Ocean & Beaches

You may have mixed reactions to this news, but ODA has identified and cleaned 5 new sites in the last couple months.

The bad news is that there's more debris in more places, but the good news is that your ODA ocean cleanup crew is ON IT!

Here're our new sites. You can click the links to read the stories!

• Santa Ynez, California.
• Kohala Coast, Big Island Hawai'i
• Access to 965 acres of the Seal Beach National Wildife Refuge.
• Deep Step, Big Island Hawai'i. Check out the photos of professional photographer Renee Capozzola!
• Poka'i Bay, Oahu Hawai'i.

And since I last wrote to you, there have been some milestones:

• New boat partner Body Glove in Hawai'i.
• Release of mini-doc Defending the Deep by Angus Yates.
• Sadly, Mr. Bob Barker passed away (he supported ODA and donated our main boat in 2014).
• We released our first video edition of the ODA Crew Chronicles featuring Kim Cardenas.
• Tragic day in Lahaina, Maui (I landed there that day with the intention to meet a new boat partner).
• Instagram sensation Sam Bentley featured ODA on his page!
• Record number of traps pulled in one day and 100 critters released.

In between all the things I mention above, we've been consistently cleaning other sites in Hawai'i and California.

Because of your support, we can return to known debris sites and remove ghost gear and rubbish that continually piles up!

Your care and concern for coastal waters and the ocean wildlife who call these places "home" is inspirational to us at ODA. You keep us going!
