AHD and local partners helping to train local communities with access to safe drinking water via AHD Nadi filter innovation solution. West and South Africa all in trouble of drinking contaminated water and no solution to help them with long term impact
Liberia faces a severe, critical water and sanitation crisis. Only about 25% to 30% of the population has access to managed, safe drinking water. Waterborne illnesses, largely driven by poor sanitation and contaminated groundwater, account for 18% of all deaths in the country.
Rural Areas: The situation is often much worse outside the capital. Rural communities are largely dependent on surface water (rivers and streams) or unprotected hand-dug wells, which are highly susceptible to agricultural and animal contamination.
