Climate Disaster Relief Fund for Sri Lanka
Reporting Period: April – June 2025
1. Overview
The Climate Disaster Relief Fund aims to provide rapid response and support to communities affected by climate-induced disasters across Sri Lanka. The fund supports emergency relief, rehabilitation, and resilience-building interventions in vulnerable regions.
2. Activities During the Reporting Period
Status: No Emergency Interventions Conducted
From April to June 2025, no significant climate-related disasters were reported in the target areas. As such, the quarter did not require the activation of emergency response mechanisms or the implementation of relief activities.
Although field-level interventions were not necessary during this period, the project team remained on standby, coordinating losely with local authorities, community-based organizations, and disaster management units to ensure continued readiness in the event of an emergency.
3. Preparedness and Monitoring
Regular communication was maintained with local disaster response stakeholders.
Emergency supplies and logistical arrangements were reviewed and confirmed to be in standby condition.
Risk monitoring systems continued to track weather and climate patterns through district-level alerts.
4. Conclusion and Way Forward
While this quarter saw no emergency activations, the Climate Disaster Relief Fund remains a crucial resource for vulnerable communities facing increasing climate threats.
