Clothe 250 Vulnerable Ugandan Orphans & Widows
Project Status
Funds raised: $0 of $20,000 goal (0%)
- Donors: 0
- Monthly donors: 0
- Campaign status: Active (preparation phase)
Current Situation
In rural Eastern Uganda, many orphans and widows continue to live without adequate clothing or shoes. Children often avoid school, play, and community life due to shame and bullying. Widows face similar humiliation, unable to attend prayers and community gatherings with dignity. This is not only a material hardship—it becomes a daily barrier to belonging, confidence, and stability.
Key Challenges
- No funding yet: $20,000 remaining to begin procurement and distribution
- Visibility gap: A new campaign requires stronger awareness-building to reach first donors
- Urgent needs continue: Beneficiaries remain exposed to hardship while funding is delayed
- Scale requires momentum: Serving 200+ people requires consistent donor engagement, not one-time attention
Current Activities (Preparation & Readiness)
Even without donations yet, we are maintaining readiness so we can act immediately once funding begins:
- Sustained communication with local partners and community leadership in Eastern Uganda
- Beneficiary selection framework prepared to prioritize the most vulnerable orphans and widows
- Procurement planning for quality clothing and durable shoes, including sizing and vendor options
- Distribution protocol prepared to ensure a dignity-preserving process, including personalized cards and respectful delivery
Strategic Planning (To Build Momentum)
We recognize that early traction is critical for a first-time quarterly campaign. Our current planning includes:
- Refining campaign messaging to improve donor conversion and trust
- Expanding outreach to community networks and potential partner organizations
- Considering phased implementation to launch a small pilot distribution once an initial milestone is reached
- Preparing stronger storytelling and photo documentation plans for the first funded distribution
Expenditure Plan (When Funding Is Secured)
- Clothing packages (60%) – garments appropriate for children and widows
- Shoes/footwear (25%) – durable shoes/sandals to support school and daily life
- Distribution & logistics (10%) – transport, coordination, and local handling
- Dignity materials & documentation (5%) – personalized cards, basic packaging, reporting/photos
Next Quarter Goals
- Reach a first milestone to begin procurement and confirm beneficiary sizing
- Secure 10–25 donors to establish early momentum and credibility
- Launch a focused awareness push highlighting the dignity impact of clothing (school + prayer access)
- Begin a pilot distribution as soon as initial funding allows, followed by a detailed impact report
Impact Potential
- Target: 100 orphans + 100 widows (and community-level ripple effects)
- Services: Clothing and shoes to restore dignity and participation
- Long-term goals: Increased school attendance, improved self-esteem, reduced isolation, and stronger community inclusion
Looking Forward
While this campaign is not yet funded, the need is real and ongoing. Clothing is a simple intervention, but it changes daily life: children return to school without shame, and widows rejoin prayers and community gatherings with dignity. We are ready to act immediately once support begins.
Every donation helps dress hope and dignity back into someone’s life.
