While health conditions of seniors have improved, creating opportunities in the silver economy, challenges persist. Ageism and lack of training hinder stable employment. Meanwhile, in Colombia, the technology sector faces a talent shortage, with over 162,000 job vacancies projected by 2025. Training programs can bridge this gap, empowering seniors and meeting industry demand
Through an intensive, comprehensive training, Makaia's Bootcamp will provide 50 participants over 50 with the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed for employment in the tech sector. Additionally, Makaia will provide assistance connecting them with potential employers within the network of institutional allies to achieve job placement, and mentoring them throughout the process of applying and interviewing for employment opportunities.
