Can you imagine a visually impaired guy coding?
Dear RATA supporter,
Since on 6th April 2023, Rwanda Assistive Technology Access(RATA) has started to train 5 visually impaired(3 Male and 2 female) people on how to code under a pilot project of 3 months called: "Coding for the visually impaired".The aim is to have in the future persons with disabilities in Rwanda who are able to be part of the design of local softwares that meet their needs and who can choose tech as their career.
Trainees are being trained on how to make a simple website and they were introduced on different emerging technologies like Artificial intelligence and cloud computing. We will keep updating you about the progress of the project.

RATA is a local non-governmental organization in Rwanda registered under the law N0 522/RGB/NGO/LP/10/2019 founded on 4th January 2018 with mission of ensuring accessible ICTs (Assistive technologies) for people with disabilities in Rwanda.
