Coding skills and employment for vulnerable people

Connecting people with job opportunities in the IT sector  

We keep working in the connection between people and wide job opportunities that the technology sector offers. After the 12-week training web development and programming bootcamp finished, they were able to access jobs that changed their lives. Subjects like human skills and employability tools were essential in their training. 

Today, 272 people were trained in FrontEnd and BackEnd Web Development bootcamps, and 183 of them are employed in more than 80 tech companies in Colombia. They have trusted our talent and today is allowing us to be agents of change in vulnerable communities that require more educational and employment opportunities.  

Our commitment continues with the connection of talents who are looking for an opportunity in the technological sector, contributing to the knowledge of our groups and building a community that strengthens the bonds of connections and opportunities for our trainees.  

We want to maximize our impact, and it is just because of you that we can help to fulfill the dream of more women, young people and recently unemployed who seek through technology a new opportunity to change their lives. 

During the last period, 27 young people had 65 hours of training in thematic and methodological techniques of electronics and programming, they learn from the basic level of circuits to create their own projects using sensors and electronic elements. This way, they contributed to solve problems of their social environment in the City of Buriticá - Antioquia.  

In the course of these workshops they developed around 9 prototypes such as, the machine that rotates the harvested coffee beans and allow them to dry; allowing them to invest the time in other activities and optimizing the time invested in coffee processes. Also, the application of  our meteorology helped to develop a humidity and temperature sensors to monitor meteorological parameters in the city and anticipate the probability of landslides and harvest. These examples show how the knowledge received in the “Innovation Laboratories” empowered them to solve real problems in their own context. 

Between April and June 2022, we seek to impact 50 young people in our workshops developing their skills in principles of electronics, robotics, and programming, and encourage them to provide solutions to problems previously identified in their own contexts.  

By supporting this initiative, we can continue to transform the lives of those who see in technology and innovation the grate opportunity to actively contribute their own reality and context of their communities.
