The Collinsville Food Pantry has been housed at the First United Presbyterian Church since the 1970's. It was a lot less organized back then. The Church Secretary would hand out bags of food on certain days. There was no keeping track of who came and where they lived. The Collinsville Food Pantry received their own 501-c3 in 2018, years after being under the umbrella of CAMA (Collinsville Area Ministerial Association). They created their own Governing Board and had 3 thriving programs. Tote Me Home, SOS Soup Kitchen and the Transient Bags for the Homeless. They also continued partnership with the Salvation Army, Collinsville Township and Madison County who help fund the Rental Assistance, Utility Assistance and temporary housing for the homeless. This has all been done in the cramped space of the Church who has graciously allowed us to stay after all these years of growing. It is time for us to find our own place in the City of Collinsville. Just like a child who is ready to leave home and spread their wings, it it time for the Pantry to do the same. Please continue to support our mission to take care of the families of Collinsville. Thank you!
