After the Municipal and European Parliament elections, parliamentary elections have now elected a new government and everyone is anxiously waiting for the new announcements, regarding the reestablishment of the possessions of the fire affected victims.
We have assisted 6 more families to follow up with the process of the house classification as well as with the house inspections. Total of families assisted this term is 9.
Our team of social workers have conducted 3 workshops with the following themes:
- stress management
- recreational occupation
- community relationships
They have proved to be very productive and to our big surprise, the participation has been very active and engaging.
Our Emfasis social worker, fire affected victim herself too, continues to provide weekly guidance with regards to adjusting to the “temporary” way of life, through regular visits and mainly giving them the opportunity to share the burden of their everyday problems.
Special Initiatives:
One year memorial service, support and advisory
Summer activities
environmental talk about planting own gardens, mainly for vegetables, a very popular remedy for residents aging 55+ years old.
"Living well" weekend in July - sharing tips by Emfasis collaborating experts about how to live a healthy lifestyle.
