The community we work with in South Africa really did fall through the cracks when it came to government support. They have no services whatsoever in the township apart from a primary school. No doctors, no police, no emergency services and the township is so overcrowded that the sewers are backed up, people live on top of each other and so when a fire breaks out it takes away at least 30 families at time and leaves them homeless and with nothing.
And you thought life was tough? Still every day as I walk around our community I see a smile of faces and the support from each other is so overwhelming, I know if we had the money we could change our community for the better together and without any other assistance and this is why I know how important Action Change is and you as the donors as it is your money that allow me to work for change in our community.
While this is a new project we didn't expect to raise $3,000 in days and we know it takes time as we don't have any big donors just our amazingly generous and supportive individuals around the world, like you. We have raised over $300 so far and rather than sit on these funds we have teamed up with a local supporter to run free eye testing for children in the community, they have funding from another project and with our little bit we can officially open and start our healthcare project.
We are so excited and will share with you an update soon but we hope this will help us kick start our healthcare project and one day we will have a clinic funded and providing free health care to people living in poverty.
Thank You
