Since the launch of the Community Sports Development for 350 Youth in Borno project, Elite Star Foundation has continued to focus on its goal of creating safer and more supportive environments for young people affected by conflict through sports, mentorship, and peacebuilding activities. The project is designed to reach 350 vulnerable youths, support 20 local teams, rehabilitate three community sports fields, and train 15 local coaches in conflict resolution and mentorship.
Financially, the project has a total funding target of $10,000. According to the current project information on GlobalGiving, $25 has been raised through two donations, leaving a balance of $9,975. This represents 0.25% of the total project target. The funds raised so far constitute an initial contribution toward the resources required to implement the planned activities. Given the limited funding received to date, the project still requires substantial financial support to cover essential costs, including sports kits, jerseys, boots, training equipment, field rehabilitation, and coaching activities.
Elite Star Foundation remains committed to advancing the project’s objectives and ensuring that available resources are directed toward meaningful community impact. The planned six-month sports league will provide participating youths with opportunities to develop teamwork, discipline, leadership, and peaceful conflict resolution skills. As implementation progresses, financial contributions and effective resource management will remain essential to translating the project’s objectives into tangible benefits for young people and their communities in Borno State.
