Turn a former battleground into a playground. This project transforms the lives of 350 war-affected youth in Borno through a structured "Sports for Peace" league. We provide 20 local teams with full kits, safe fields, and coaches trained in trauma healing. By replacing idleness with teamwork, we protect vulnerable children from radicalization and build a generation of peace-builders.
Borno's youth are fighting a silent war against trauma and idleness. Over a decade of insurgency has destroyed safe spaces, leaving thousands of displaced children without recreational outlets. This lack of engagement makes them prime targets for gang recruitment and extremism. Without intervention, these 350 youth face a future defined by violence rather than opportunity. They need a team, not just to play, but to belong.
We don't just drop a ball; we build a support system. We will equip 350 youth with jerseys, boots, and training gear while rehabilitating 3 community fields. 15 local coaches will be trained in conflict resolution to mentor players during a 6-month league. Every match includes a "halftime talk" on peace and leadership. This structure provides the discipline, mentorship, and safe environment these children desperately need to heal.
We are raising captains of industry, not soldiers of conflict. This project creates a permanent shield against radicalization for 350 families. By fostering trust across ethnic lines on the pitch, we reduce community tensions and social fragmentation off the pitch. These youth will grow into disciplined, emotionally resilient adults who champion peace in Borno, breaking the cycle of violence for the next generation.
