Large groups of people flow into Shire Town, from the west and north of the town. Originally it was men, women and children but recently it has been the elderly, women and children. Their homes destroyed, their cattle eaten, their ploughs used as fuel...
Some have a few items for cooking most do not even have their cooking pots. Physical illness beset them, but mainly the impact of wide spread destruction of lives of loved ones and their very livelihoods has caused untold mental strain leading to serious mental health related problems.
Food so appreciated has been distributed in Internally Displaced Camps, and to those who have no camp as recently arrived from the west. A sack of grain and high protein flour makes the difference for living or dying.
Improving shelters for the Internally Displaced People means a regular place to lay your head. Phsychologists helps you get your head around the horrific trauma...
Abraham's Oasis has been helping with all the above, over 8,000 fed, another time 3,000 new arrivals... and still more to come.
