This project will work with Youth and Women groups In Zanzibar, empowering them with knowledge and resources to fight against climate change challenges and introduce income generating activities that are friendly to environment, build resiliency livelihood and preserve the environment.
While most of youths in rural areas are engaging in income generating activities that are in one or another contribute to the environmental degradation and hence escalate the impacts of climate change. Zanzibar youths especially in rural areas are marginalized in decision making process and are not taking full ownership in addressing the impacts of climate change.
The project will engage youths by empowering them to voice their concerns on climate change impacts, identify income generating activities that escalate climate change impacts and hence support them to engage in livelihood activities that do not degrade the environment, friendly and adaptive to climate change.
The project will empower 20 youths to voice their concern on climate change, build sustainable income generating activities hence contribute to the poverty eradication.
