COCE aims to build a community library that provides space to enrich, empower, and educate children from Nangina and surrounding villages in Busia County, Kenya. There are 10 primary schools in this area and no library available to support their learning. With the help of donors like you, we can change lives in these communities through the education that these children experience.
Communities located in the southernmost region of Busia County, Kenya have no access the a public library. There are 10 primary schools in this area, and none of the schools have libraries. Schoolchildren and community members lack access to support for educational opportunities, literacy development, and community programs that enrich their lives.
This library will enable COCE to further its efforts in educating children through access to books, study space, and programs such as tutoring. The library will act as a central hub where students from neighboring communities will come for tutoring, studying, access to books, and receive educational resources and support to bolster their ability to achieve their dreams.
COCE's community library will have a centralized a space to implement programs that empower schoolchildren as well as the community at large. By providing access to books and education materials, along with supportive programming, this library will increase literacy among children and community members. This library ensures that COCE will be able to actualize its vision of ensuring that all children in rural Kenya have the knowledge and tools they need to lead healthy and successful lives.
