International Health Partners (IHP) is expanding its humanitarian activities in Lebanon during the escalation of conflict and bombing in Beirut by sending additional shipments of essential medicines and medical supplies. IHP has extensive experience in successfully shipping to Lebanon, with almost 100 shipments in the past 10 years. We are sending antibiotics, mental health medicines and supplies to treat wounds and enable excellent care.
On the 2nd of March 2026, hostilities in Lebanon escalated, with intense airstrikes across multiple areas north and south of the Litani River. The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health has reported 31 deaths and over 149 injuries to date, with numbers continuing to rise (MoPH). The new attacks triggered an estimated 29,000 people displaced (of which 9,000 are children) in the first 24 hours alone, in addition to the previous 62,000 Internally Displaced People in general (UNICEF).
HP has already dispatched a large consignment of primary healthcare medicines, due to arrive shortly, capable of supporting more than 36,000 patients. Additional shipments of essential antibiotics are scheduled to leave soon, with further medicines for mental health care in the pipeline as approvals are finalised. These shipments will fill the critical gap in stock of essential medicines and enable lifesaving treatments.
Medical Gift-in-Kind donations do not exist alone and are a part of building mechanisms to long-term sustainability in each country. Our medical donations exist alongside our NGO partners' wider activities and free up resources enabling them to focus on supply chain management, building infrastructure, health worker training, and other activities. Having access to donated medicines enables our in-country partners to focus more on their broader health system strengthening work.
