Building compassionate palliative and supportive care in Bangladesh means changing and improving the health care of the country. To do this requires more than working in the community. It also means changing existing health care services. One of the main objectives of this project is to graft palliative care into the country's primary health care system know as the Upaila system. In the past three months we finally gained permission from the government to start training and supporting one Upazila center (Bandur) ourside Narayanganj where our community home care services are provided. A ribbon was cut, training classes for professionals were conducted, and services have begun.
