Computer Training Center for Afghan Girls Update

By Missy Simmons | Director of Organizational Development

As 2025 ends, we look back with gratitude with all that we have accomplished together to support and empower Afghan girls during this challenging time.

Four years have passed since Afghan girls have been able to attend school beyond 6th grade, which is why AAFF has continued to support Afghan girls in grade 4-6 by empowering them with computer training.

In October, we opened our third computer training center. One of our students in this centered said,

“First, when the teachers came for registration, we were all surprised about why they had come. Later, they informed us that a free course had been set up at our school, and anyone from this school could join. Everyone was very happy because next year we will graduate and will no longer be allowed to come to school, so this was a great opportunity. I registered quickly since time was limited.”

Another student said,

“I offer a world of thanks to your wonderful office, which has done so much for us and provided these facilities. This is the best course for learning because everything is provided – desks, chairs, computers, television, internet – things not every course has, and it's free. Our teachers work hard and teach excellently. Since joining this course, I haven't missed a single class.”

In 2025, 526 girls from three public schools have participated in our computer training courses. We anticipate that 800 students will be able to participate in 2026, and we hope to open a fourth center so even more Afghan girls can gain computer training.

Thank you for your partnership!
