Challenge

More and more curriculum is delivered using computers over the internet due to the current circumstances and in general. Accomplishing computer-based education physically at the school is not possible now. Even post-CoVid 19, may not be an effective use of face-to-face time with the teacher. It has become important to include at-home learning as an integral part of a complete education. We must augment computer access to enable all students to access this crucial component of their education.

Solution

Providing computers and internet access for home use will allow students to fully access the educational resources offered by ISSAC, and improve computer literacy for these students and their families. ISSAC educational resources include STEM subjects, foreign language learning and training in communication and presentation of ideas. Parents are also trained to understand and use of this technology to support and oversee their children's learning at home.

Long-Term Impact

This project will give access to computers and/or the internet to 120 students who do not current have this access, allowing them to fully participate in digital learning and grow in their knowledge of how to use and develop software, systems, and technologies. The digital divide, the gender divide, and the class divide in terms of access to and mastery of technology will be reduced through this project, for our socio-economically challenged population.
