On the evening of Friday 8th September 2023, Morocco was hit hard by a strong earthquake measuring magnitude 6.8. Remote communities in the High Atlas Mountains were badly affected.
The Eve Branson Foundation worked quickly with our partners to get emergency relief on the ground in Asni and support long-term recovery efforts. We are forever grateful that our immediate community of staff and guests were safe.
The team had recently completed setting up desks and a small computer hub for Asni secondary school students who were looking forward to having a safe and quiet place to revise. Unfortunately, like most of the local schools, boarding houses and public buildings, our new study centre was badly damaged.
Your donations and support are now more important than ever. Many young people and children once again face the risk of a disrupted education. By donating to this project to provide students in Asni with laptops and other digital resources, you will support their future path to education once this community begins to recover from the devastating impact of the earthquake.
Thank you.
