We are happy to present the Progress Report of our project and like to thank all our donors for their continuous support. Animals and people have co-existed for thousands of years, with animals playing a vital role in natural ecosystems and communities across the globe. Despite the strong relationship people have with animals, many stray, abandoned cattles suffer from poor welfare in many urban and rural belt. In both the urban slums and rural areas people shelter the cattles mainly for milk production and other economical purpose. They are practicing the ancient method for providing food and health hygiene to those innocent animals. They treated them as a machine of production not as a pet or companion with minimum requirement of nutrition and supplements. So when the cows stop producing milk or get diseased, they quickly abandon them. Keeping the arising problem in mind in livestock sector, Akhil Bharatia Hinsha Nibaran Sangh, Ahmedabad jointly with Jivdaya Charitable Trust, Ahmedabad organized a day free Veterinary health check up and food distribution camp for cattles at Palasana, Ahmedabad. The program was conducted with joint efforts of these two organizations with a view to address in the economically backward people by providing free check up and medicines for their cattles.
Veterinary expert from Jivdaya Charitable Trust Dr. Shashikant Jadav and team were the chief attractions in the camp who successfully managed to examine about 121 animals (Buffalo, goat, horse, camel, and dog) with majority of animals having reproductive/ breeding problems were treated. The camp also became meaningful and successful in giving exposure to a number of diseases and health problems.
