Respected Donors,
Greetings from Jivdaya Charitable Trust
Dear friends Due to rapid urbanization, habitat destroyed, many territories have converted to small patches and the numbers of abandoned animals increased day by day here in Ahmedabad. Absence of food attracts many animals like dogs and cows towards the garbage disposal point to find food, which leads many territorial fights between these two creatures. A week before we have received one such heart-wrenching case of calf badly injured by multiple dogs bite.
This maimed calf was rescued and brought to us by summit chauhan (Name changed) in with a severe laceration all the way from the hump to the left side of the shoulder and up to the elbow joint. Suspected to have a deadly dog bite, he had a very deep seated wound. The muscle was badly damaged and the wound was contaminated with mud and dirt. Our vets and the assistant had to first flush the wound a lot with soap and water, to get it cleaned out properly before it could be bandaged. The calf is currently on antibiotics and painkillers. He has started eating and is recovering slowly. Once he recovers enough he will be shifted to larger cattle rehabilitation centre for a better and safer life.
Through this report we request all the people be kind towards the animal and the environment, stop destroying the natural habitats. Once again thank you very much for your support and trust, without your generosity and loving hand we are not able to bring the changes.
