We all love dairy products like milk, butter, cheese, ice-creams, chocolates, yogurt, buttermilk and many more. But we do not pay attention to them who are the main sources for all these products. Yes, we are talking about the ‘Cows’. In India we worship ‘cow’ as mother, but they often become a victim of cruelty or violence and ill-treated by humans. They have a lifespan of 20 to 25 years if living in their natural habitat and can produce milk for 8 to 9 years. However, the stress caused by the conditions of modern-day dairy farms leads to diseases, lameness, and reproductive problems that render cows worthless to the dairy industry and they either become homeless or send to the slaughterhouse. These poor abandoned cows are then start living on the streets and fighting for their lives. Unfortunately, the lifespan also decreases drastically due to the poor quality of life.
Today we will share the story of ‘Mahi’ the abandoned cow who was lying on the roadside (for over a week) with multiple fractures in her left forelimb. She was almost dying with the pain and starvation.
When a group of animal rescuer rescued and brought her to our facility. Our team immediately started the treatment and splinted her fractured leg. With proper treatment and care ‘Mahi’ is now completely ready to move to her forever home where she can feel safe and have a pain-free life.
This Particular project completely focus on the wellbeing of abandoned cows like ‘Mahi’ who has been exploited again and again for producing milk and immediately left alone when got injured and no longer be a useful business tool for the vendors. Jivdaya Charitable Trust not only treat but always tries to provide a permanent home and a better life for these innocent poor souls like ‘Mahi’ as a token of gratitude from the entire mankind.
We thank all our donors to make a change in many lives like ‘Mahi’. Your kind donations and contributions help us saving lives and continue doing the same every day.
