A hernia is an abnormal exit of tissue or an organ. Most hernias are caused either due to congenital or different types of injuries, accidents, blunted trauma, and commonly involve the abdominal content including intestine in most species including cattle, sheep, goat, horse, and donkey. Hernias are classified based on anatomical location, cause, and the organ involved. The symptoms may include pain, discomfort, and swelling.
A couple of weeks ago we had received a calf with a severe hernia near the left side of his belly (We named him Gattu). ‘Gattu’ was in immense pain and unable to eat properly. After arrival, our team of vets kept ‘Gattu’ under observation for 24 hours, and after a detailed clinical examination, they decided to perform the surgery and repair the hernia. After the successful surgery, ‘Gattu’ is now under our supervision, where he is healing faster with post-surgery medication, care, and love. Our Gattu is a super foodie and his favourite pass time is chewing his food. Seeing his pace of recovery we are hoping to hand him over to his local caretaker soon.
Dear Friend, saving lovely Gattu is a big achievement for us, but we could not have done that without your support. We save all these innocent lives through your generous contribution. With the help of your donation, Jivdaya Charitable Trust saves over 4000 animals and birds every month. Thank you once again for having faith in us.
