Maggots were infested in Ganga’s wound:
‘Ganga’ engaged in a territorial fight with other stray cows while searching for food on the road and broke her horn.
Her untreated injury was exposed to dirt, dust, and pollution. Gradually the wound started spreading while she rubbed her affected horn against the light post or any roadside walls to get relief from the pain. Slowly her wound developed maggots and the rotten horn fell off and maggots started digging deeper into her wound. A rescued group from Ahmedabad found her on the road in that painful condition and brought her to Panjrapole where our team checked Ganga and treated her injury. The good news is our doctor managed to clean all the maggots from the damaged area and put a bandage to prevent the wound to spread.
Now Ganga is happily living with her other friends in Panjrapole where she is getting fresh food, clean drinking water and medical care and recovering rapidly.
