Dear Supporters,
We’re excited to share that the first phase of our newest project is now complete: the planting of the Red Forest, a vibrant and symbolic grove flanking the Noah’s Ark structure that anchors our upcoming exhibit.
This unique forest is made up entirely of native trees, each chosen for their red-colored fruit, flowers, leaves, or bark. As these trees grow and flourish, the Red Forest will become a magical place—an inviting space where families can stroll, relax, and enjoy shaded picnics during the warm summer months.
Beyond its beauty, the Red Forest plays a vital role in our conservation mission. Because all the species are indigenous to the area, the forest also serves as a living classroom for educational programs focused on local ecology.
The Red Forest was officially planted on February 14, 2025, during a heartfelt ceremony in memory of Shai Doron, the beloved former director of the Jerusalem Zoo and a true champion of wildlife conservation. The day was filled with joy, reflection, and community spirit—with supporters of all ages taking part, and even the Mayor of Jerusalem joining us to mark the occasion.
We can’t wait to share more updates as this project continues to grow—both literally and figuratively.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
