This project will assist St.Francis of Assisi catholic church to be constructed at Kavovi villages in Machakos Catholic diocese. The proposed area has an estimated 628 direct catholic faithful's. Population is poor and unable to construct a church. This situation has forced the community to request the nearby primary school to be allowed to worship or walk for 6 kilometers to nearest catholic church.Most affected are the women with kids on their backs,children,aged and pregnant women
There is no church in Kavovi villages in Machakos Catholic diocese. The area has an estimated 628 catholic faithful's. The population is very poor and vulnerable with more than half leaving on less than 2 dollars per day. Lack of money makes them unable to construct facilities for worshiping. Worshipers are forced to walk more than 6 kilometers to the nearest church. Most affected are women with kids on backs,the aged and pregnant mothers walking 6 kilometers to the church and back home.
women,children and the aged will be relieved from walking 6 kilometers to the church for prayers. time used on walking will be used for other economic activities for the community. more worshipers will now attend the church services because of its close distances. children will have time for Sunday school studies and bible studies because of church proximity. Alot of energy wasted in walking will now be making people healthy. women and girls economic empowerment will be realized.
Spread of Christianity and Community good morals and God fearing practices, reduced walking distance to church will give room for other productive activities to be done. Community meetings on developments, training seminars, bible study, weddings preparation and funeral prayers will be used in the church. Making a difference in people's everyday lives will benefit the believer as well as the community. The church will impact the lives of the people and the believers will fulfill the Messiah
