Summary

Given the increase of autism cases, there is great need for services and treatments that require specialized professionals and diagnostic tools, and there are very few public entities that offer integral services to children that show signs of autism, whose families cannot afford an assessment to begin with, and much less, laboratory tests, therapies, and follow-up. Saying yes to them by giving your kind donations will change the lives of at least 100 children.

Challenge

Venezuela economic crisis has a heavy impact especially on low income families (basic salary is 3$) and more so on families of children with a challenge like autism that really demands attention and individualized treatments, in a country where public health and psychoeducational services are very few except for those offered by private providers, non profits or individual professionals. Autism has increased and helping those families is a great need in view of the children's future.

Solution

Serve families that cannot afford - a diagnostic assessment with physician, nutritionist with integrative approach training and a psychologist - specific laboratory tests; - 3 months of therapy; and - a follow up consultation, in the lapse of one year. All this to provide assistance, especially to very young children because it is very important to have an early diagnosis and treatment, that will improve the prognosis and quality of life for the individual in the spectrum and his/her family.

Long-Term Impact

The children and teens that you help will get an integrative diagnosis, individualized medical, nutritional, psychoeducational and sensory treatment to improve their physical health and thus their learning and adaptation processes; their performance at their learning centers, and hopefully start regular school depending on each individual. They deserve the opportunity of inclusion and a better prognosis for behavior, learning experience, health, and independent lives.
