"I always say that arriving at Corcovado is like arriving at Jurassic Park," says Helena Pita, coordinator of the Environmental Education Program of the Corcovado Foundation, laughing. This place is home to 2.5% of the world's biodiversity.
Thanks to your unwavering support, we at the Corcovado Foundation are able to make a significant impact on the conservation of this natural paradise. Your contributions are not just financial, but a vital part of our mission.
This June, we supported the control and protection program with the purchase of a printer to be able to prepare reports for the Environmental Prosecutor's Office, and we improved the drinking water pipe system at the Los Planes Operations Center at one of the entrances to the Corcovado National Park. Due to the age of the building, the pipes were failing, causing problems with the arrival of the vital liquid and causing health problems for the park rangers. Thanks to your support, we could change the pipes and ensure the drinking water supply.
We improved more than 30 kilometers of trails.
Thanks to funds from the Osa Trust, we are working on improving the trail network of Corcovado National Park, where we have built 14 bridges for tourists, as well as the construction of drainage and placement of material on the trail. These improvements help tourists have a better experience, increase security and help protect the natural elements of the national park.
We are preparing for the Big Beach Clean-up of Corcovado National Park.
We will close this semester with the II Big Beach Clean-up of Corcovado National Park, where from July 27, 28, and 29, we expect more than 50 volunteers to support the cleaning of the park's beaches. Tons of waste will be collected that arrive through the ocean currents and are affecting one of the most megadiverse spaces in the world.
Thanks to you and people like you who support our programs, we keep working. Please share this project with your friends and family and keep supporting us.
