Challenge

As the global death increases due to the Coronavirus, children around the world are facing growing risks. Save the Children is working around the clock to keep children healthy, safe and protected. With each day, the risks to the psychological impact this pandemic can have on children grow. Children living in quarantine or possibly being separated from their families are especially vulnerable, while school closings can also cause disruption to children's education.

Solution

As the global leader in child-focused humanitarian response, Save the Children mobilized immediately to provide support, including medical supplies and preparedness training-to the most vulnerable region impacted by coronavirus. Our response includes training health teams worldwide how to protect themselves and prevent further spread of the disease. We are also supplying the personal protective equipment and other supplies frontline health staff desperately need.

Long-Term Impact

Save the Children's emergency health teams have also played a key role in responding to major epidemics around the world. We know how important it is to support fragile health systems during these emergencies, as well as to support children who, if not directly affected by illness, are still affected by closing of schools, activities, and affect of the emergency on parents and other caregivers.
