Thanks to your generosity we did all that we could do in the prevention and protection against the pandemic in Afghanistan. Now what is even more important is the psychological and social effects of it and that is what our social circus is the best in handling.

Millions of children & youth in Afghanistan need to be hopeful, joyful, positive, inspired & make a bright future. The war, poverty & coronavirus are imposing increasing depression & hopelessness. MMCC for 19 years has been the major source of fun, creating peaceful culture & capacity-building children & youth. Because of the pandemic, we have lost a big part of our donor support at this crucial time. Join us in supporting MMCC & give a unique chance to the children and youth of Afghanistan.

Back To Life

Dear Friend,

Thank you for supporting children of Afghanistan in these difficult times.

Your generous donation supported us to pioneer various new activities which helped Afghanistan in the most difficult time of the pandemic. These activities also motivated more donors to join supporting our work and therefore rapidly increasing the results. Since start of our “Coronavirus Response in Afghanistan” by your contributions together with the additional supports we have:

Produced and distributed more than 20 000 face shields for mainly doctors and health workers in different cities.
Painted more than 19 000 green circles of social distancing in different cities.
Produced and distributed 723 hand sanitizing unites mainly for the IDP camps.
Besides these we have made tens of COVID-19 workshops for children and parents, published different informative leaflets and banners and made informative campaigns.

These initial activities inspired UNICEF in making a partnership project with us in further educating children of IDP camps in Kabul and Herat and also producing and distributing hygiene material and equipment in their camps. Here you can see a short video about it: https://youtu.be/vNvmZ3Gzqxc

Now children of Afghanistan need to get “Back to Life” and start understanding and fitting themselves into the new normal life. The pandemic has deteriorated the already difficult situation. We need to cheer up, stop depression and with all the COVID-19 measures taken seriously, start a happy joyful productive life. We are now focusing on developing and producing campaigns, performances and workshops with the main focus on “Back to Life”.

The bigger sponsors are restricted by their rigid mandates and can’t support fun and educational entertainment such as bringing smiles and cheerful activities. Therefore again we have to rely on individual donations. Our “Coronavirus Response in Afghanistan” is now focusing on “Back to Life” activities. Coronavirus Response in Afghanistan

Thank you for your support in fighting coronavirus in Afghanistan.

The situation is changing and developing rapidly in Afghanistan and we also keep adjusting and improving our activities. Bigger cities in Afghanistan are in lockdown and in many cities even praying in mosques are suspended to prevent any possible spread of the virus. All our children are at home and only a limited number of our staff and the youth who have had a comprehensive coronavirus prevention training after modification of our center attend the activities. We have coordinated with the authorities and received the permissions from the ministry of health for our work.

We had been pioneering production of masks but soon got good local competitors who make the masks cheaper and make it easier for us to buy from them to distribute. At the moment our main activities are as follow:

production of face shields
production of hand sanitizing stations
painting of social distancing green rings in the public placeess such as in front of bakeries, pharmacies and markets
distribution of both masks and face shields mainly for the hospitals
production and distribution of coronavirus prevention info material such as posters

Next week we are going to add more creative educational and informative activities and campaigns to this list. So far in both Herat city (western city of Afghanistan neighboring Iran) and different districts of Kabul city we have:

Distributed 1450 masks in the hospitals and for the public
Painted 1130 social distancing rings in 343 locations in the public places
Distributed 1888 face shields in the hospitals both in Herat and Kabul
Produced 50 hand sanitizing stations mainly for the IDP camps of Kabul and installed most of them

We have received additional supports and are looking for more donations for expanding our work as the needs in Afghanistan are enormous.
