The hidden and hurting of this world remain unaware or untrained in basic wellness habits, as well as the knowledge that Coronavirus is out there. Our teams will send out volunteers to rural communities instructing using a CDC/WHO curriculum to help villagers prevent unnecessary deaths and avoid mass infection. We will provide small health kits, as well as training about why these habits are important, as well as what to do if someone becomes ill. Who will go if we do not?
Those living in extreme poverty in rural villages throughout Africa, Asia, and the Middle East are at risk of succumbing to Coronavirus. They have little opportunity to learn of the virus, understand the risks and gain knowledge on prevention as well as recovery. There are as many as 70 million households living in extreme poverty in rural India alone.
Our teams are nationals, living in each region impacted by extreme poverty throughout rural Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. They are prepared to provide additional villages wellness training specific to prevention and care for Coronavirus aligned with CDC/WHO recommendations. We will, in addition, purchase locally provided wellness kits including soap for washing hands, dishes, and surfaces to prevent contagious diseases like Coronavirus.
The impact will result in prevention, helpfully slowing the rate of spread for this disease and open doors for our teams to engage long term to initiate sustainable development in these communities. Our ultimate result will be to empower villages over a 5 year process called Transformational Community Development to become self-sustaining. Learn more here: www.ghni.org
