Coronavirus Relief for Children in Serbia

In a small town in Serbia lives a mother whose strength quietly carries a family of six. She is raising five children on her own, three daughters who are still in school, a teenage son who recently finished his education, and her youngest, a two-year-old girl.

Three of her daughters are still in school, D just started her first year of high school, P is in 7th grade, and little L is in 4th. Every morning, they walk to school with hope in their hearts, even when their backpacks are light and their needs many.

Her husband passed away from a serious illness at just 38, leaving her to face every challenge alone. For months now, she hasn’t had any income, and every day is a new struggle to cover even the most basic needs, food, electricity, school supplies.

Yet, despite everything, she remains full of quiet determination. Her daughters go to school regularly, eager to learn, dream, and achieve more, while their mother does everything she can to make sure they have what they need to keep going.

She told us honestly and humbly that any help, especially financial support and school supplies, means more than words can express.

Her story is a reminder that even in the hardest times, love and perseverance can light the way forward.
