We have raised over $11,000 via our GlobalGiving campaign so far this year – thank you once again for your support!
This support means that babies and children who come to live at Prithipura Communities receive appropriate care and support right from the start and which allows them to grow and thrive.
Upani came to the Infants Home when she was just 9 months old and was cared for initially in the baby room ‘Usha’ and supported by Pushpa and the team. She bonded well with her carers and learnt to walk, drink from a cup, try different foods and enjoy a variety of play and learning activities in the ‘school room’ every day.
She continued to develop further skills when she moved onto the ‘Netherlands room’. She learnt to eat by herself and say more words, enjoying communicating with those she spent time with. She has always been a happy and smiley little girl who enjoys socialising and interacting with those around her.
When she was 5, Upani moved to Cotagala School with some of her friends and since then has continued to thrive. Now at 8 years old, she loves maths, writing and craft work. She enjoys taking part in all the different activities that Cotagala offers including dance and drama and continues to thrive!
