Dear friend,
I hope you are in good health and keeping safe,
Covid-19 affected all of us across the globe in some ways and Les Enfants de Dieu(EDD) in partnership with GlobalGiving would sincerely like to update you about the progress and impact we made together in effort toward supporting the most affected people during global pandemic especially in time of lockdown and after quarantine effects where people completely lose their source of daily bread ,We are therefore extremely grateful and thank you for your generous gift to our COVID-19 APPEAL-Help Feed our Community’’. We have been very thrilled to have your support.
Through your donation we have been able to purchase maize flour, dry beans, cooking oil, washing soaps and then accomplished our goal of distributing food to one hundred and twenty two (125) of the most affected individuals and families including EDD 14.4% of former staff, 44% of families from EDD community of alumni‘s families as well as including 41.6 % of Ndera local community people whom we identified through village local leaders.
COVID-19 pandemic has been far more than a health crisis as it has negatively impacted societies and economies in many spheres and in our local community it has caused many disruptions related to socio-economic factors including but not limited to high rate of unemployment due to the fact that it imposed lockdowns, which in turn imposed new ways of living that was so much challenging resulting in the feeling of uncertainty about the future.
Our beneficiaries expressed indeed their gratitude as they were surprised by the fact that at least somebody could stand alongside them in the most significant challenging times and uncertainty about the future across the globe.
Conclusively, the project was funded at 77.6% and no words are adequate enough to say how grateful we are, your donations not only enabled us to provide basic food and essential supplies to these vulnerable families but also it helped provide them moral strength that carried them through their challenging times, and also it contributed to our government effort to curb the pandemic as it played a great role in protecting our community from spreading pandemic.
Fulgence is one of our Alumni, in his own words expressed his gratitude
"My name is Fulgence I am married and I have a wife and almost 3 years old boy , Covid 19 affected us in some ways as I am a welding technician who depended only on casual work, when covid-19 hit getting job was difficult and it was not easy putting bread on table for my family.
On behalf of my family I sincerely thank you for the support that you extended to us by providing food in most challenging times of Covid pandemic, all I can say is thank you and may God bless you all "
Due to effort of government’s vaccination program, we are no longer in lockdown ,almost everything is open as before pandemic outbreak, people are now able to go to work and/or search jobs and we are happy about that. The project was funded at 77.6% and we are going to stop this project as we are no longer in lockdown though still experience some other effect due to the pandemic and you can continue giving your support the other project thus Education sponsorship for about 238 children
Thank you!
