Since 2002, EDD has worked to create brighter futures for vulnerable children in Rwanda. In 2021, we established a nursery school guided by Early Childhood Development (ECD) principles. Today, we provide free, holistic pre-primary and primary education and school meals to 177 children aged 3-9 in Ndera, Kigali. Following Rwanda's Competency-Based Curriculum, we teach up to Primary 4 and aim to expand to Primary 6. Your support helps every child learn, grow and build a brighter future. Join us!
The 1994 Genocide left Rwanda facing deep social and economic challenges. Despite the country's progress, poverty and inequality continue to limit access to basic needs and quality education. Children from low income backgrounds risk missing out on the education, nourishment and support essential for healthy development. Without these foundations, their potential may remain unrealized, limiting their future opportunities and ability to contribute to Rwanda's social and economic development
EDD provides free pre-primary and primary education guided by Rwanda's Competency-Based Curriculum and Early Childhood Development principles. Through academic learning, social-emotional development and free school meals, we help children grow and thrive. We aim to expand to Primary 6, introduce digital literacy which will equip children with the skills to explore technology, prepare for the 21st-century global economy and become positive contributors to society and Rwanda's development.
EDD provides quality, holistic education to nurture lifelong learners with the knowledge, confidence, skills to pursue further education, explore diverse careers and contribute positively to society. Through digital literacy, we aim to prepare children for the 21st-century global economy. Rooted in civic responsibility, respect for human diversity and peaceful coexistence, our approach empowers children to become future leaders who challenge inequalities and help build a more inclusive society
