This project is centered on growing and harvesting agricultural produce, such as fishery, poultry and crops cultivating for the benefits of orphanages, to aid them cope through this pandemic. It's designed to help 10 orphanage homes, with a population of about 1190 less privileged kids in Nigeria. This intervention will assist them from living off uncertain donations, create financial independence through profits made from sales of produce and for benefits of their consumption and welfare.
Over the 5 years now, orphanages in Imo state has been living on optimist-ism of uncertain donors. This has fall short of their livelihood, due to insufficient funds for basic welfare needs, such as feeding and health and these results to malnutrition, sickness and psycho-social behaviors. This project is designed to assist more than 10 orphanage homes in Imo state, that currently has no sustainable means of livelihood, according to the state department humanitarian and social affairs.
This Project will create sustainable means of living for more than 1000 children in Imo state Nigeria. They will have financial freedom and less dependency on uncertain donations from external bodies. This project will harness agricultural practice for the kids and hone over 500 interested kids for entrepreneurship in agricultural sector.
This project in the long run, will help build the financial capacity of 1000 less privileged kids and 10 orphanage homes beneficiary of this project in Imo State. This will also create an awareness about the importance of agriculture as an alternative for economic growth/development and help boost favorable climatic condition in our world.
