The outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has been declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) by the World Health Organization and the virus has now spread to many countries and territories including Ghana. The protection of women and children is particularly important in stopping community spread. Many women have loss their livelihoods and are threatened by food insecurity.
The protection of women, children and the general population is particularly important in stopping community spread. As a result, many women are hard hit without any form of social safety net to support them. Their livelihoods are affected and they have become food insecure. It is inline with this that this project intends to work with and support 100 households through a rapid response mechanism to be food secured and enhance their sustain incomes.
100 households in the Wa West District will be targeted and provide them with farm inputs support through a well structured small grants scheme to enhance their livelihood and ensure their food security.
Enhanced sustainable food security among poor families and households. This will ensure social inclusion and serve as a strong buffer for sustain livelihoods.
