Summary

TOLFA Animal Hospital has been working to help the sick and injured animals of India for over 15 years. We have helped over 225,000 animals in this time. We wouldn't be able to do this without our incredible Indian team - 50 men and women from mostly impoverished backgrounds who support their extended families through their employment at TOLFA. As the terrifying new Covid-19 Crisis rips through India we have a duty to keep our staff safe and well. This project is to provide support for our staff

Challenge

Our 50 staff have been working to help the sick and injured animals of our area for a year already during the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdowns. India is now facing a nationwide crisis as the new wave of cases increases at an alarming rate. As an Essential Service our teams are still working to rescue animals in need and help as much as they can. We want to keep them healthy and safe. This project is to provide the support necessary to care for our staff as they continue to care for the animals.

Solution

By contributing to this project you will ensure that we can provide medical support and care to our staff and their households that are directly affected by the Covid-19 crisis that is ripping through India at the moment. The peak is not expected to hit Rajasthan until late June and we already have some staff members whose close family have tested positive for Covid-19. This project will enable us to get the best care available and contain the spread of Covid-19 amongst our staff & families.

Long-Term Impact

Our 50 staff are like family to TOLFA and we want to protect them, and their families, during this terrible time for India. If they get sick themselves then they cannot care for the thousands of rescued animals that we treat every year. This could have an unthinkable impact on TOLFA in the future. We are very much part of our community here in Rajasthan, India and welcome support that will help our staff to survive this emergency situation.
