CRH aims to provide medical palliative such as nutritional drugs to several rural, hard to reach communities and vulnerable groups in FCT to boost their immunity against covid-19 and distribution of soaps, face masks, hand sanitizers and other protective equipment to prevent the spread of the pandemic including education on how to observe the covid-19 prevention protocols such as safe distancing, wearing of face mask, etc.
The sad reality in Nigeria is the limited or no consistent prevention education and access to personal protective supplies to prevent spread of COVID-19 in hard to reach rural communities and vulnerable groups, as the measures taken by the government of Nigeria is highly concentrated in urban communities. This has made the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to continue to spike. CRH will educate 30 communities in FCT about COVID-19 prevention protocols and distribute 5000 PPE to households
CRH Team will provide printed materials and plat-forms to spread messages on the prevention of COVID-19 and distribute protective equipment to vulnerable groups and hard to reach communities in FCT, especially Drug Users will be provided with PPE at the drug bunks, sex workers will have PPE stationed at the brothels and at different entry and exit points in markets, motor parks, IDP Camps, etc. Nutritional drugs will be distributed as palliative to boost poor families' immunity to fight COVID-19
The project will mitigate the misconceptions among local people about the existence of Coronavirus. It will educate communities of the importance of handwashing, social distancing, mask wearing and covering of the mouth, nose when coughing and sneezing. It will provide 5000 persons with personal protective equipment to protect themselves from covid-19, especially to vulnerable groups in the targeted communities. It will give the local population the chance and confidence to remain resilient
