This campaign will provide direct support to the refugee population we serve in New York City, a group that is facing significant challenges during the recent wave of migrations.
Large waves of refugees are arriving in New York City in recent months asking for asylum, many of whom experience higher poverty and PTSD rates, legal hurdles, lack of familiarity with resources, and language barriers.
Children's Aid will provide our refugee families with education and workforce development opportunities, health and mental health care, food assistance, emergency relief, legal aid, translation help, and resource navigation services.
This project will help the dozens of refugee families we serve in New York City remain healthy, supported, and educated, and will ensure that their citizenship application process continues smoothly.
