From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to each and every single one of you for generously supporting this project. Today on #GivingTuesday, we hope you’ll join us in #MovingAMillion by showing us some extra love.
Gifts for this project will help empower Nepalese women and youth during the COVID-19 crisis through initiatives like the Access to Education program. Launched in response to public school closures, this program not only keeps students (girls, in particular) in rural Nepal from falling too far behind in school, but also helps to prevent children from early marriage.
Thanks to your support, we’ve successfully launched 50 education centers across Nepal. This means that with an average of 100 students per center, we’re currently providing 5,000 K-10 students with educational opportunities they haven’t had in the last seven months, and mobilizing 354 teachers already on the Nepalese government’s payroll.
This is incredible, and we’re so thankful for all the support we’ve already received from all of you.
We’re building on this momentum to grow and reach even more students and girls in the coming months. Today, GlobalGiving has prepared $1 million in Incentive Funds — meaning eligible gifts (up to $2,500 per unique donor per organization) will count towards earning a portion of that fund!
Please make a gift today to maximize the impact of your support. Thank you and Dhanyabad!
