When COVID is near and with us

St. Nicholas’ Home was sealed due to some COVID-19 cases within our premise. Although times are tough for our BVIs and staff staying in SNH, we would like to say thank you to our faithful supporters who are with us through thick and thin.
For those who are unaware of the situation in SNH, we discovered our first COVID-19 positive case on 26th July 2021. That was the day when we received our second dose of vaccination too. The joy of receiving an extra-protection soon turned to worry upon the confirmation of the first case. Hope was not lost however as we are blessed to receive countless assistance from all sides.
The Management immediately sprang into action on the day of confirmation itself, quarantining the first case patient and implementing the COVID containment plan. Some of our buildings and rooms were turned into quarantine centres for future positive cases and isolation rooms for people with symptoms. Our Board Members who are experts in the medical field gave us suggestions on handling this daunting task while the others were quick to show concern and even donated some necessities.
A group of our staff who were tested negative volunteered to stay in SNH, risking their health to personally monitor and care for our BVIs. Following the advice given by our BOD and KKM, we check every resident and staff’s temperature and oxygen level thrice a day. Sanitizations were done twice by external parties and daily sanitizations are being carried out by our staff following the purchase of our own fogging machine and sanitization liquid. Vitamins are distributed to the BVIs and their conditions are being monitored by their dorm leaders and staff.
Although our kitchen crew were incapacitated, we are grateful to receive daily meals from the public.
Special shout-out to all donors. Without you, we are nothing.
Our BVIs and staff are forever grateful for your help.
