Food security and education are closely interconnected, particularly for children from underprivileged backgrounds. This is because, as far as the children are concerned, their midday meal or lunch was taken care of by the school.
When all schools were closed, food insecurity became a major issue for our children who are all from economically disadvantaged families.
The Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of the connection between education and food, as it has brought to light the disparities that exist within our society and the impact that these disparities have caused. The pandemic has exacerbated these issues, as the closures of schools and businesses have resulted in job losses and economic hardship for many families. This has led to an increase in food insecurity. It is important that we take steps to address these issues and ensure that all children have access the basic necessities that they need to succeed in life.
The aim of this project "Covid: Feed 145 families living in Bangalore slums" is to provide food security to underprivileged families during these challenging times.
We are thrilled to report that we held a provision distribution drive from the 21st of September till 26th September. Through this drive, we were able to distribute provisions to 300 children and their families. This was made possible through the generous support of our donors, and we are extremely grateful for your contributions.

.
On the occasion of Diwali, ACT held a distribution drive, this was a special moment for us as it allowed us to bring joy and light into the lives of these families during a difficult time.
Each family received:
